Smitten with her, he asks her to marry him but she refuses, detecting an evil streak hidden beneath his surface. He heads to Paris with his father's crooked business partner, where they get mixed up in a murder and Mason must flee back to the US, where he once again runs into Nadia under an entirely different set of circumstances.
