But these plans are thrown into disarray when Herb, the father of the bride, intervenes and fights with her over planning rights. To settle the dispute, they spend a few days together at the request of their children, but this also causes problems: Claudia discovers feelings for Herb, which are answered by the arrival of Herb's girlfriend. Without further ado, she decides that the two families are completely incompatible and pleads with the children to cancel the celebrations.
