The widowed teacher and the divorced mother of two soon no longer want to settle for a long-distance relationship. Without further ado, Oliver packs his things and moves with his daughter Holly to the Bavarian province, where Johanna runs a nursery. However, everyday life in a large family thrown together presents everyone involved with unexpected difficulties. Holly is still grieving for her mother and is estranged from Johanna. Her daughter Lisa, who is the same age, is suffering from school problems that are bigger than her mother suspects. And on top of all the family chaos, the heating in the nursery breaks down, jeopardizing Johanna's livelihood.
