One day, he is approached by his classmate Yuki, who invites him to join a strange part-time job—working as a "Death Angel." The job involves resolving the lingering regrets of the departed who cannot move on, and guiding them peacefully into the afterlife. Although skeptical at first, Shinji gradually regains hope as he helps each of the departed fulfill their final wish and pass on. Just as their part-time work seems to be going well, a secret Yuki has kept hidden is revealed, bringing an unexpected turn to their lives.
