At the same time, his son Alex publishes his novel: a reckoning with his father. In it, he describes him as "greedy, horny and egotistical". The situation becomes unbearable for Cliewer. He flees - as far away as possible from the media publicity that he serves so well and which also dominates him. Also away from his long-term partner Amanda, whom he is cheating on but still can't let go of.
